How Orlick's name describes him

Orlick doesn't care about anyone except himself and his name clearly reflects that. "...he gave me to understand that the Devil lived in a black corner of the forge, and that he knew he fiend very well: also that it was necessary to make up the fire, once in seven years, with a live boy, and that I might consider myself fuel" [Dickens 113] Here, Orlick clearly shows that he is selfish by making jokes to put a smile on his face that are clearly at Pip's expense. There is no indication in the text that he was joking or doing this in good fun. He only wanted to make Pip's life worse. And whats funny, is his name reflects his selfishness in sentence. I could imagine him saying something like "Hell if I care. You can do that ORLICK My A**!" Couldn't you?

I do agree with you that Orlick is selfish, and a fiend. I agree with this because when Pip was to get half a day off, Orlick argued and wanted one too. Than a fight broke out between Orlick and Joe. But how does his name reflect his personality?
